Speighstown - Historic Fishing Village to Luxury Destination

St. Peter has always been home for me, and having grown up in the North of the island, I have always been interested in its history. Once a fishing village, Speightstown has transformed into a sought-after destination for holiday homes, boutique style accommodations and luxury beachfront villas, emerging as a contender to Holetown, a little further south in St. James
Once known as "Little Bristol" Speightstown was once a major port for the island's sugar industry. Its location allowed for the export of sugar and the importation of goods. The architecture is a reflection of this, with a colonial style and distinctive red brick buildings.
In recent years, Speightstown and its surrounding areas have got the attention of investors. The area is becoming well known for its restaurants and bar scene as well as holiday rental options. A significant development includes the newly created mooring for small cruise ships, enabling luxury vessels to anchor in the bay. Passengers can now disembark at the recently renovated pier. Just outside of Speighstown, Pendry has started work on their first international development. A 74 room beachfront hotel, marina and private residences.
Alleyne Real Estate has three options for holiday rental in and around Speightstown. St. Peter’s Bay, Coral Beach and Godings are all excellent choices for families.
If you are interested in owning, our sales team also has Pendry Residences units available for purchase.
Speightstown Is just a 15-minute drive from Holetown and less than an hour from the airport.
